About Grosse Ile 2020

During April, seven Island residents filed applications to run in the 2020 Republican Primary Election in August as a slate of candidates named Grosse Ile 2020 for all elected positions that comprise the Grosse Ile Township Board.  The following is the Grosse Ile 2020 Candidates Team with the positions being sought:

Jim Budny ~ Supervisor

David Nadeau ~ Treasurer

Mark Lane ~ Clerk

Joe Porcarelli ~ Trustee

Mike Jurecki ~ Trustee

Mark Mills ~ Trustee

Jamison Yager ~ Trustee

These candidates developed the Grosse Ile 2020 Campaign Platform to resolve problems with the operations of the current Township Board and increase the fiscal responsibility of Township government while creating new opportunities to improve the quality of life in the community.

Question:  Why run for Township Board as a slate of candidates named Grosse Ile 2020?

Answer:  There are five entrenched incumbents on the Township Board who typically vote on every issue as a unified majority voting block -- "Club Loftus" -- that frequently does not take into serious consideration input from more than a small group of long-time Township Hall insiders.

The Grosse Ile 2020 Candidates Team is dedicated to giving all Islanders a meaningful choice about the future direction of Township government by electing a new majority on Township Board committed to positive change, transparency, inclusiveness and fiscal responsibility.

If elected, the Grosse Ile 2020 Candidates Team will engage citizens in a positive dialogue to build a new consensus in the community for implementing the best decisions based on the values and priorities stated in the Grosse Ile 2020 Campaign Platform.
